2024-25 Year-Round Tryout Info

The region tryout rules have changed for indoor clubs, but BEACH CLUBS can hold tryouts earlier. In an effort to make the new and improved tryout season a little easier we have scheduled several different tryout dates for athletes wanting to get in the sand. The list of dates is below. Players only need to attend one tryout, unless selected for a call-back!

Tryouts will be offered at THREE different locations: Badger Creek Park (BCP), Holy Spirit Prep Academy (HSP) & Lakepoint.

You do NOT have to tryout at the location you would like to practice out of. You can select that once you have been offered a spot in the program. 

  • June 16: 1:00-3:00pm @ BCP
  • June 23:  1:00-3:00pm @ BCP
  • June 30:  1:00-3:00pm  @ BCP & HSP
  • July 7:  1:00-3:00pm @ BCP
  • July 14:  1:00-3:00pm @BCP
  • July 17: 6:30-8:30pm @ LAKEPOINT

You will be able to select the date of your choosing during the registration process.


YEAR-ROUND PROGRAM INCLUDES

  • Approximately 75 practices
  • Training from November to the end of June...or even longer if you are attending one of the beach national events.
  • Coaching at 10-12 tournaments
  • Tournaments are both local and travel. Our tournament schedule is flexible and customizable from athlete to athlete
  • Year-round gear package- includes Lululemon gear!

OUR YEAR-ROUND PROGRAM IS DESIGNED TO DEVELOP THE COMPLETE SAND ATHLETE FROM HEAD TO TOE.

PHASE 1: STRENGTH & Skills

Phase 1 - Our year-round season starts with building the athlete’s strength and power while continuing to work on beach skill building and improvement. Beach volleyball is quite demanding on the athlete's body. We want to take time to ensure our athletes have the endurance and physical ability to move properly in the sand.
Speed, Agility, Quickness (SAQ) are workouts included in our regular scheduled practices. These programs constitute the critical, physical foundation upon which the latter stages depend. During this phase, players are also introduced to core beach volleyball concepts and strategies.

PHASE 2: TRANSITION

Phase 2 –  SAQ workouts slow down a bit, as we transition toward competition. Players are now spending more time in the sand honing their skills and learning what strategies to use at different times of competition.
Drills in this stage become more game like. We want our athletes to be able to select strategies and tactics to self implement in the competitive environment.  Game strategy and team-building become more defined as the players now enter and compete in tournaments on a more regular basis.

PHASE 3: COMPETITION

Phase 3 - This is where players reap the benefits from all their hard work in the previous two phases. Phase 3 is all about competing at the highest level. Though players have been competing in tournaments during phases 1 and 2, in this final phase the competition and game play really take center stage.
This coincides with all of the beach volleyball organizations now hosting their best tournaments with all of the national bids at stake. Players will now be perfecting individual and team skills in the sand.


The S3 Year-Round season is an eight month long program designed to develop the complete beach volleyball athlete. Our year-round athletes will have the opportunity to compete in both local and national level events from Florida to California. We will compete in USA Volleyball events, AAU events, AVP events and BVCA events.
